Description: According to Sanatan Shastras, there are four types of birth:
- Andaja – Those born from eggs (e.g., birds, reptiles etc).
- Swedaja – Those born from warm vapors or sweat (e.g., bacteria, germs).
- Udbhija – Those that sprout from the earth (e.g., grass, plants, trees).
- Jarayuja – Those born from the womb (e.g., mammals, including humans).
Among these, human life is said to emerge after taking birth in approximately 84 lakh yonis (species). It is considered the highest peak of existence, as humans possess seven chakras (energy centers). Human life is unique because it is the only form of existence where one can achieve moksha (liberation). Unlike other beings who live solely by instinct, humans have the ability to seek knowledge, practice dharma, and awaken their higher consciousness.
This painting represents the essence of human birth. The fetus enclosed in a glowing orb symbolizes the womb and the sacred process of creation. The red hue surrounding it can be associated with the Muladhara Chakra, which governs birth and survival. The white beam extending downward signifies the connection between life and the cosmic order, possibly representing the vast spiritual journey a soul undergoes before reaching human form. The grid-like structure below can be interpreted as the intricate web of space - time - karma that influences our reincarnations.
This painting reminds us that human birth is not just a biological event but a profound spiritual opportunity. According to Sanatan wisdom, being born as a human is a rare privilege, offering a chance to transcend the cycle of birth and death by realizing our divine nature. It is up to us to use this life wisely—by pursuing knowledge, practicing righteousness, and striving for spiritual awakening.
